Transaction declined

If a transaction is declined there are a few common causes to check.

Common reasons

  • Insufficient card balance — check your card balance in the dashboard and top up if needed
  • Card is frozen — unfreeze the card from the dashboard
  • Merchant doesn't accept virtual cards — some merchants block prepaid or virtual cards
  • Spending limit reached — check if your monthly limit has been reached
  • International transaction blocked — some merchants block cards from certain regions

What to do

  • Check your card balance in My Cards on the dashboard
  • Verify your card is not frozen
  • Try a different card if you have multiple
  • Contact the merchant to confirm they accept virtual Visa cards
